Becca + Jeff
A Baltimore Wedding Rooted in Ritual, Romance, and Really Good Music
Some wedding days feel like they’ve been pulled straight out of time. They’re ancient and intimate all at once. Becca and Jeff’s wedding was exactly that. From a traditional Catholic ceremony filled with incense and choral music to a reception buzzing with vinyl records, live musicians, and candlelit warmth, their day felt deeply personal and quietly electric.
These two are, without question, the coolest and somehow also the sweetest people. And their guests brought the same energy and vibe. From the beginning of the day to the end, it all felt so intentional. So full of love, and full of heart.
Getting Ready at Hotel Ulysses
The day began at Hotel Ulysses, where Becca got ready with just her mom and bridesmaids. Even though there was a lot to do and not that much time to do it in, there was so much joy. Plus, I have to say that the hotel’s character paired perfectly with the day's tone. It was warm, moody, and a little bit romantic in that effortlessly cool way.
Becca’s custom Jill Andrews dress was classic and refined. The craftsmanship, the fit, the simplicity of it all felt exactly right for the day. We all watched in awe as she assembled her outfit- deciding between gold or pearl necklaces, tucking curls out of her face. It was stunning! Timeless!
Sardines, Personal Details, and a Day That Felt Like Them
If you know Becca and Jeff, you know they love sardines, and yes, they found their way into the wedding day in the best possible way. These little personal touches popped up throughout the celebration. It started with a little sardine pillow (or toy, or stuffed animal?)on Becca’s bed in the hotel room. Later, at dinner, everyone had a mug with a little sardine on it for dessert drinks. I even painted a sardine onto their custom USB. It's just a funny thing that means a lot to the two of them. Yet, it added so much personality to the day.
Now, as I reflect on the event, it was clear to me that nothing felt like it was happening “because you’re supposed to do it this way.” Sure, there were some traditions followed, but generally speaking, every choice felt true to them. It was their day; the day they wanted.
A Sacred Ceremony at St. Alphonsus
The ceremony took place at St. Alphonsus, Becca’s family’s home church, and a space steeped in history. The traditional Catholic mass felt reverent and emotional, and it was brought to the next level by live choir music and drifting incense that filled the space.
There’s something incredibly remarkable about a ceremony like this. These rituals, repeated for generations, are now holding space for a new marriage. Watching Becca and Jeff exchange vows in that setting felt powerful and deeply moving.
Music, Friends, and a Reception That Felt Like Home
After the ceremony, guests made their way to the reception at Adlersaal, where the tone shifted into celebration. But what amazed me is that the intimacy of the day held throughout. Friends performed live music during cocktail hour and again during the reception. It just made the evening feel so unmistakably personal.
DJ Mikie Love created a soundscape that felt curated, soulful, and completely on brand for Becca and Jeff. It was all about the mood, flow, and keeping people connected to the room.
Bowl of Cherries Catering handled dinner, and Becca truly could not stop raving about them, and for good reason. Not only was the food incredible, but their team also helped with planning and setting up the reception space. That’s just the type of support that any bride wants on her special day.
A delightful cake from Harmony Bakery was served as the night rolled on, conversations deepened, and the dance floor stayed full. From start to finish, Becca and Jeff’s wedding felt like a reflection of who they are: thoughtful, creative, deeply connected, and quietly cool. The color palette, the music, and the way people lingered all created a sense of closeness that carried through the entire day.
These are the kinds of weddings that stay with you. Not because they’re loud or over-the-top, but because they feel honest. Because every piece fits. Because you walk away feeling like you truly know the couple a little better than you did before.
